What is Quantum Resistant Ledger?
The concept of the Quantum Resistant Ledger is the development of a cryptocurrency structure that would fit the needs of blockchain users of today, and with capabilities to adapt to the future. A portion of existing cryptocurrencies are vulnerable against futuristic technological developments, namely - Quantum computers. The QRL blockchain with its intrinsic currency called Quanta wants to offer value protection against sudden tech leaps. To do so it is implementing the so-called "Extended Merkle Signature Scheme" (XMSS) for cryptographic signatures. This should allow QRL to be unsusceptible to Quantum computing attacks. The consensus protocol on QRL is a lightweight PoS algorithm open to all QRL users to participate. Block creators are chosen at random according to their holding size. The QRL blockchain allows developers to create QRTs (Quantum Resistant Tokens) that will obtain all the functions of QRL.
