What is ViaCoin?
ViaCoin is a decentralized cryptocurrency created in 2014 and based on the Bitcoin blockchain. It advertises as a perfect micropayment solution. Its developers claim it has a transactional speed 25 times higher than BTC. ViaCoin uses an AuxPoW (Auxilary Proof of Work) that makes it compatible to be merge mined with any other cryptocurrency based on the Scrypt algorithm. Its mining reward halves every six months and is lower than some other currencies, but AuxPoW incentivizes miners by enabling to mine other coins in parallel with ViaCoin. ViaCoin bolsters with features like Anti Gravity Wave difficulty algorithm, SegWit, Lightning network, Colored Coins and more. Also, Schnorr signatures are marked as a future development on the ViaCoin. The platform should also encompass the smart contract capabilities of Rootstock (RSK) blockchain by the means of merge mining.
